Dr. Gregor Garten, LL.M (NYU), attorney-at-law (New York)

Dr. Garten has been a legal practitioner in German and international commercial law for many years. He is admitted to the bar in Germany and in New York. He began his career as a lawyer in a reputable U.S. law firm, and held executive positions (General Counsel and General Agent) in a bank and a bad bank. Dr. Garten’s work focuses on transaction business, acting as advisor to the board and advising on and steering of domestic and U.S lawsuits in the financial services area.

Dr. Garten studied law in Freiburg, Genf and Bonn and obtained a Master of Laws degree from New York University School of Law.

Dr. Tobias Tillmann, LL.M (University of Toronto)

Dr. Tillmann has been a legal practitioner in German and international commercial law for many years. He is admitted to the bar in Germany. Dr. Tillmann began his career as a lawyer in a reputable U.S. law firm. He later went in-house in an executive position at a privately held bank before becoming head of legal at Erste Abwicklungsanstalt (so-called bad bank of former WestLB). Dr. Tillmann’s work focuses on M&A transactions, restructuring, corporate finance as well as advising on and steering of domestic and international litigation in the area of financial services and commercial litigation.

Dr. Tillmann studied law in Cologne and obtained a Master of laws degree from the University of Toronto.
